Re Tilt
I have just signed up for this site. Don't ask me why but I began to think of Gordon Tilt ( middle name Philip) and googled him.
I was going out with him when he died. He was 21 if I remember correctly and died of a brain haemmorhage. He is buried in North Road cemetry in Darlington.
He always told me he was from Sunderland but he also told me he was a twin (brother)which I can see does not seem to be true.
He worked at the rolling mills as a crane driver. Somewhere I have a photo of him - he had ginger hair. I don;t know why but I was pleased to see him recorded here. I always felt sorry for him cut off from his family. He lived with a lovely lady who treat him like a son - he was friends with her son Chris. Best of luck with your search.
