 hi  ;D

back on the hunt for Ivy Langdon's parents...

...

In 1891
The family that I just posted also had a son William living with them. I found a marriage of William Langdon to either a Selina Dawe or elizabeth J May , dec q 1892, Camelford . I wonder if they were Ivy's parents ...will try to find them in 1901 , when Ivy is with her grandparents james and Eliza Langdon.

deb

It seems that the above William Langdon married Selina Dawe
1901
Tintagel
William Langdon head mar 34 retired quarryman slate b St teath (Spinal complaint)
Selina wife mar 37 b Tintagel
Bessie dau 2 b Tintagel  (b 1899 died sept q 1904, Camelford)

I wonder if Ivy belongs to them , as they were married in 1892 ...but only have Bessie b 1899)

will look further

Fern Villa

James Langdon head mar 60 Carter
Eliza wife mar 60
Eliza PROUT dau wid 32
John Langdon son s 21 slate quarry
Samuel Langdon son s 18
Runnell ? Langdon son s 12
IVY LANGDON gr daughter s 7 b St Teath
Frederic Prout dr son 4
Richard Prout gr son 2
Samuel Prout gr son 2 months

I cannot find a birth for Ivy langdon   :-\

The Marriage cert would give us the name of her dad....

deb :)

I wonder if Ivy could belong to Eliza Prout nee Langdon ? Eliza Langdon married frederick Chenoweth Prout Dec q 1896, Camelford. Ivy was born 1894..maybe illegitimate ?

In 1891, there is also a daughter , Beatrice Langdon. She married Samuel Lee Dec q 1893, unfortunately she seems to have died in June q 1895, camelford.

Beatrice 11
Mary Ann 10  (she married Joseph Tabb in 1889, by 1891 she is a widow)

Hi, again,
There is nothing for it but to send for the marriage cert.  It is the only way I will know for sure.
My uncle is adamant that she was the sister of Frederick Prout (son of Eliza in the 1901 census) but surely she would have the same name.
I know that Frederick was registered at birth as Langdon then his name was changed on his mother's marriage to Frederick Prout senior.  If Ivy was his sister then surely she would have done the same.
What a confusing family I have been born into  ???
Annie.
PROUT Cornwall/lLiverpool
STEEN Cheshire/Liverpool
WILLIAMS Durham/Wales
HARLAND/ Durham
HODGSON Yorkshire/Durham
STRICKLAND Durham/Notts/Cumberland
QUINN Durham/Ireland
BURKE Leisc/Ireland
ALLEN Leisc/Ireland
GALLOWAY Middlesborough/Durham
WATKINS Hereford/Cheshire

Annie mentioned on her other thread that someone had married a Lanxon

In my previous post ,,,we have Emily marrying Thomas Lanxon ...

In 1891...Emily and Thomas LANXON (27 mar, carpenter) are boarders in Penzance ...they are transcribed under the name LanYon.

in 1901;
Thomas Lanxon (37, carpenter, mar) and his son , Thomas S I Lanxon are lodgers with the Prouts. Can't find Emily !

what if Ivy is their child and been transcribed as Langdon and not Lanxon ...
