Thanks Berlin Bob for the update - I've been following your advice already - amazing what you can do while waiting for a page to load!

Best genealogy boards bar none, being let down by technology. This has being going on for some weeks now, but this afternoon is by far the worst. 5 minutes waiting after clicking on the thread on Recent Posts.

Steam is beginning to come out of my ears!

It's slow for me too, today.

I have always valued Bob's advice - up to now. Housework indeed!  ::)  I go here to avoid the chores!  ;D

About the slowest I have ever seen it, it's as bad as trying to get on late evening in the USA while maintenance is running.   I guess it's the price we have to pay for RC being so popular - and free - let's not forget it's free :)

Maybe if a couple of thousand of us were to donate a pound each they could do the necessary upgrades to the system.   I wouldn't object to the front page having a link where you could make donations using Paypal or similar.   Any thoughts?

I think paying for RC would cause a lot of people to not use it, which would be a shame, but I think there are enough regulars who could afford to donate a small sum if it was suggested to help maintain it.
I am researching the following families:
Hurst / Payne - Leicestershire / Warwickshire / Worcestershire
Toon(e) - Leicestershire
Batchelor / Foster - Warwickshire / Northamptonshire
Hardy - Dorset

My web site has the family tree showing.  I am researching primarily the Payne, Hurst, Foster and Batchelor lines in the Midlands.
