Hi Jenn,

I am just new to this so bear with me if I don't use the correct terminology or protocol when replying to these posts. I am the granddaughter of Claude Cecil and the great granddaughter of Charles (son of Benjamin & Zillah). All my information comes from recollections and bits and pieces of our family history written by my aunties and mum before they passed away and subsequent information which I have been able to marry up with the information that I have.  I may be wrong in some instances - that's why these posts are an important source to me.

Kind regards,
Gayle

There is no set terminology  or rules we are just a group of  people more than willing  to  help  anyone else where we can ;D

It  is  good  if you are able to cite  sources as we are having trouble finding some of  the children.

Any information is allways welcome and of course it works  the other way, anything we can help you with just ask

kind thoughts Jenn

A bit more -

ROSSITER Thomas James
O'SHEA, Mary Ann Josephine.
Marriage 1 Sept 1854
Place St Andrews Brighton
Witnesses ROSSITER Benjamin, ROSSITER Zillah

Cando

Hi Cando,

I wonder if there's any record of another ROSSITER/O'SHEA marriage also in 1854?

According to the Victorian online indexes, Charles ROSSITER married Ellen Theresa O'Shea in 1854, and it seems likely that they were married in the same place, if not at the same time, as Thomas ROSSITER and Mary Anne O'Shea.

Any sign of them?

Phil

Yes, they were two sisters marrying two brothers. That's what made me think that the marriages might have been on the same day!

As you can see, the grooms' parents -Benjamin and Zillah - were witnesses both times.

Here's another challenge: Any sign of (a) a marriage for Edwin Augustus ROSSITER probably in 1890; (b) the birth of a daughter named Frances soon afterwards; (c) the death of his wife some time prior to 1915; and (d) the death of Edwin, probably in 1939?

I have just discovered that he enlisted in the First AIF (Remount Regiment, 1st Squadron) in 1915, claiming to be 50. In fact, he was just a few months off sixty!!

As always, your help would be much appreciated.

Many thanks in anticipation.

Kind regards

Phil

Phil have edited my last post...the reg numbers have quite a gap so wouldn't be the same day.  Sorry about my incorrect posting.

this is exactly what I was hoping for. Is there any sign of Edwin's marriage in about 1890?
Many thanks for your help - Phil
