….. Having said that, I’d be willing to go on the show and pretend to be surprised when they uncover my family history. :o

I’m sure we’d be ok…. No-one would find out it was fake… would they?   ::)

Identity theft perhaps.
Ask Paul O'Grady, she would know.

Hi Sandra,
sounds really good.  I am stuck in 1744 at the moment! Have a convict on one side transported to goodness knows where for stealing washing!  Another ancestor fought in the Peninsular War.  Trouble is I'm not exactly photogenic and very shy so don't think I could go on TV.  Maybe if you got Kate Winslet to be me :D
good luck with your quest

Well said Borderterrier :)

it's a fantastic opportunity for some lucky person and what a shame that someone who doesn't recognise that fact had to post petty insults aimed at Paul O'Grady instead of just leaving the thread if he didn't like it.

Jimster,  What makes you think that a Great Grandmother is less important , or a convict or anyone elses relations and or their occupations or disadvantages, they are all equally important to the serious genealogist, be it a newbie or one that has  been plodding along over the years.

This is not a competition, and if i may say so your not being Fair to others who genuinely want or need help.  We all enjoy the fact that someone is Offering a light at the end of a tunnel to our family trees. I look forward to seeing which one of us is picked, and look forward to watching it on the Paul O'Grady Show.

Where did I say anything of the sort?  Don’t twist my words.
Of course our great grandparents are important… what a ridiculous thing to suggest I was implying otherwise.

What I was saying was if you have been trying to break down a brick wall for years -  don’t expect to find the answers on the Paul O’Grady show (I quite like him.. but he is hardly going to take this seriously)
Good luck to anyone picked for the show (if indeed this is a genuine offer), but read the original post…. They are looking for “individuals who have just started looking”.

If someone who is just starting gets any help from Paul’s show, then that’s fine by me.
