Mary's father was John not James
John being the son of James and Esther Lyle not their daughter

I seem to have spent hours barking up the wrong tree.... :-[

although I have found many other links to my immediate family  ;D

I had a dog like that once! ;D ;D

Well strangely enough I had actually given up on my g/father's line and concentrating of g/mother's line when 3 generations earlier I found her ancestor's marriage....yep...to my g/father's line....then got back to what I was actually looking for in first place. So keep records/references etc on a spreadsheet....of any reference you come across when searching, they could very easily be useful later!  Cousins marrying cousin marrying cousins.....AAAARRRGH!!
Give a man a record and you feed him for a day.
Teach a man to research, and you feed him for a lifetime.

Probate of the Will of David Weatherup late of Slievetrue Carrickfergus County Antrim Farmer who died 29 November 1914 granted at Belfast to Thomas Weatherup and Thomas McKee Farmers.

You can find this on the PRONI site under wills calendar, there should be a more detailed will at PRONI

My grandfather was robert hall from raloo county antrim and his father my great grandfather was matthew hall married to I think martha lyle. I cannot find the booklet on the Halls and Lyles at the minute,it was by a David Lyle Hall from New York.  I do remember reading about a son of Matthew having married a lady Hunter from Doagh before emigrating to Canada and having a store in Winnipeg I also think they had two daughters Meta and Molly who were school teachers. There was also a David Lyle who had a shop in Royal avenue  Belfast  1960.

UPDATE...for anyone following

I still believe that Mary was a daughter of James Hall c1789 married a Weatherup.

IF ANYONE finds her please let me know.

But from family lore I can now say that
Mary Hall daughter of John (Dairyland)
married
William John Weatherup son of John and Mary Forsyth

and

Thomas Weatherup
married
Esther Lyle Hall daughter of Patrick and Sarah McWilliams
