David Valentine and Janet Rea
« on: Friday 12 October 07 20:42 BST (UK) »
Hi there everyone,

I am looking for any help to trace these two, they are my maternal gt gt gt grandparents and the only thing I know about them is from LDS website that they were married in Forfar Angus Scotland on February 2nd  1840

Cant find any birth cert, marriage certs OR death certs.......I am assuming of course that they both were born in Scotland although that may not be the case!!

I would apreciate any help at all

Thanks in anticipation

Gordon

Hello,

The web is a wonderful thing. I was just over in Forfar researching my mother's side of the family tree with litle success. However a google search for "william rea forfar" yielded this family tree which incorporates David Valentine and Janet Rea (I remembered seeing their names on the tree when I saw your message).

http://www.soutar.net/pafg06.htm#574

Janet Rea was my Mother's great grandfather Joseph Rea's older sister:

1) Agnes, 17th May 1812, Dunnichen, Angus
2) William, 2nd December 1818. Woolrich
3) Janet,  29th December 1820, Scarborough, Yorkshire
4) James, 13th November 1823,North Shields
5) Mary Ann, 24th July 1827, Forfar, Angus
6) Joseph, 6th April 1830, Forfar, Angus (6th child)
7) Elizabeth,10th October 1833, Forfar

In our branch of the family, the family name Rea stopped with my Mother's generation.

Here's some great info about Janet Rea's parents.
