So is Merry(i)man her maiden name, or the name of her first husband?

I think first of all we need to find her marriage to Cecil Jones. This will probably mean a trawl quarter by quarter through marriage indexes, as nothing up on FreeBMD - if she was born 1900 then marriage likely to be too late for FreeBMD

Full marriage indexes are available on pay to view or subscription sites ancestry or findmy past.

OK
so finding her marrige to Cecil Jones will be pretty difficult, as we dont know her surname then.

Back to the drawing board!

I don't know whether this helps, but there is the Birth of a Cissie Merriman in the Wrexham Registration District in the July Quarter of 1912.The GRO Reference is 11b Page 499.The Mother's maiden name is also listed as Merriman.

i have tried FreeBMD for the birth +/- 2 yrs from 1900 of any Merr*man - nothing there that immediatey looks like it could be known as Sissy.

All I could find further is  the Marriage of a Cissie Thomas and a W C R Jones in what is described on the North Wales BMD Site as a Wrexham Civil Marriage. The GRO equivalent is April Quarter,Volume 8a Page 957.
