Knockcommon - birth registers
« on: Thursday 11 October 07 09:12 BST (UK) »
Does anyone know which church parish Knockcommon comes under?

I'm trying to trace the birth of Patrick Halpin in the 1840s and I've found a family which seems likely from the Griffiths Valuation. They are living in Rathdrinagh, Knockcommon but I can't find a reference to any registers specifically for Knockcommon.

Many thanks,
Pam

Thought the answer might be on this site - starts off with list of civil parishes and then mentions church records...maybe you'll be able to get something:
www.rootsweb.com/~irlmea2/Church

or this site:
www.from-ireland.net/parishrecords/meath/meathrcindex.htm

i  am new to this site, so apologies if i am doing this incorrectly, but I have a great interest in Patrick Halpin of Rathdrina. I can send a photo of his tombstone which contains great detail of his Descendents in Rathdrina, through his daughter Brigid who married Daniel Tully.

Welcome to Rootschat. This is an old post and Halps hasn't been online since 2007 but perhaps they'll see your post and get in touch.
