Thanks Suffolk that a good point. My Hannah married a chap from Lincolnshire who was a groom - hence my mind jumping to the idea of them both being in service. However what you ve put has given me another idea. Her hubby was 31 when they got married so either he was pretty hideous or perhaps he may have been in the militia in the Suffolk area? I have had so much trouble with this side of the family, and this was the side I wanted to trace most to solve a little family mystery! which is just typical really! Sorcha
