It looks as if Margaret Rose was very likely from Fetteresso, as the following extract from the Birse records show:

1788, June 15 - Birse:  Contracted Thomas Couts in this parish with Margaret Rose in Parish of Fetteresso and after regular proclamations and no objections made married June 28th

Bit of a long shot, but Rose is not a common name in the NE of Scotland.  I wonder if her first names were Margaret Rose and her surname might also have been Couts.  See the following:

Margaret Couts
Scotland, Births and Baptisms, 1564-1950
christening:   03 Jul 1756   FETTERESSO,KINCARDINE,SCOTLAND
parents:   William Couts

Just noticed that your original post has her as "Ross".  Where did this come from?  Are you sure it was "Ross" and not "Rose"?  The Birse transcript has her as "Rose"...

THERE ARE DEFINITELY ROSE FAMILES AROUND THE ABOYNE AREA. ABOYNE IS THE PARISH  WHICH IS NEXT TO BIRSE. THE NAME ROSE IS NOT SO UNCOMMON IN THE AREA AS IT MIGHT SEEM.
