Hello
If you look at emigrant US LOOKUP Offer. You will see that Ziksby is offering to do free look ups for people. My question at the time was directed at him. Hope that solves that little enigma
Regards Ken

Hi,
I'm Ziksby and yes I do have 5000 hits on Google (I think most of them refer to the same subjects (genealogy and astronomy)
I do have a copy of the Mormon Immigration CD and have done many lookups in the past few years. Most of the requests have been on B-G forums.
I found the Athays and replied to Ken and Julie but haven't heard from them since. There is quite a bit of info about them on the CD, plus I can give them the passenger list and full diary notes. Also Charles Dickens went on board prior to the boat leaving London Docks and recorded what he found.
I also found the family on the wagon train rosters.
Ken and Julie,
Get back to me and I'll send you the info direct.

Hello Roger,

My thanks for your reply to my P.M.  None of those names are 'mine'.

Is it possible that there could be information regarding the following piece of history:

In Elgin (formerly Halladay's Corners), Leeds County, Ontario, Canada, Mormon missionairies arrived and recruited many families.  In 1834,  135 covered wagons left for Mormon settlements.  For a brief time, the village was named Nauvoo.

Among the names:  Chipman, Beach.

Hi Kathleen,
I also have Canadian Chipman's in my tree. Stephen Chipman from Bastard, Leeds County, Ontario married Amanda Washburn and Pheobe Davis. A grandaughter of Stephen's, Melissa married Leonard Harrington, whose father was married to Mary Jones one of my blood relatives. An extended link, but all were Mormon pioneers. Check my tree at www.ziksby.tribalpages.com.

The Chipmans, Harringtons and Russell families travelled west with the Abraham Smoot Company ... see  http://www.lds.org/churchhistory/library/pioneercompany/0,15797,4017-1-343,00.html

I can probably find more if you need it.

Regards

Roger

Wonderful news, Roger.    :)

I will certainly take a look at your tree and the other link you provided.

I know that not all members who set out on that long, difficult journey travelled the full distance.  In fact, some returned to Leeds County.

Regards,

Kathleen

Amanda Washburn's mother Arsenath Sexton was sister of my Great-Great-Great Grandmother, Elizabeth (Betsy) Sexton.

One of the many questions I have at this time is -- Did Stephen's wife Pheobe Davis die in Utah or England?  I have seen conflicting information on this.
