Hello Steve,

Have a look at :    http://irishgenealogy.net/cp/forum/index.php

This is a website mainly concentrating on County Antrim. It does not seem to be as active as Rootschat but hopefully you might find something useful.

I have some family connections from Islandmagee - McMurtry.

Hi Leslie.

Strudy's did carting work to Belfast...hoping they worked alongside the McDowell's

I have only just found Islandmagee on my last trip....a lovely place and there is a wee shop that sells really lovely icecreams loads of different flavors .If you go all the way around you can fit in two icecreams in a day ;D

I have added that site to my favorites...will have a good look at it. Thank you

Robinson McDowell McGilpen Jackson McNeill Cunningham are my main need to find there
and maybe Steenson and Porter so not to leave any stones unturned.

William not one of your McMurty family is he..?

Hello Steve,

I have a William Frederick McMurtry, b.29 Oct 1894 in Ballinderry, Co. Antrim who married Dolly McLachlan.

He was the son of James McMurtry, b. 22 Oct. 1853 from Islandmagee and would have been a brother of my aunt, Mary Jane Isabel McMurtry.

I have transcribed the 1911 Census for Islandmagee, County Antrim. There are very many mistakes Transcribing the National Archives Dublin, although it was good to have what was done.

I have corrected most of the mistakes, although there were a few which I just could not make out what they were. The detail is on an EXCEL worksheet and takes about a minute or so to load. There is a link to download a viewer for those who do not have EXCEL installed on their computer. The link to my website :-

Good luck
