Capt. Steve,

Uh, oh!
1880 - 1856 = 24 (not 14)

So perhaps that first player is still onside ?

Capt.

Wobbly ball hit me in the head.... ;D

I have spent hours...tidying up...sorting out....filing away...banging my head on the wall.

must get some puter thingy...instead of wallpaper

the moral to this story is......

1   keep up with your information
2   file away in the right place
3   never assume
4   keep accurate records..where/when and any record codes etc.
5   ask the right questions

so now

Samuel O'Neil dies in 1871

William Sherrard is present
aged 14 ,15 or 47

Samuel O'Neill Jr  (wife Margaret McMillan) has a daughter Susannah born 4 months later from Samuel O'Neill's Sr demise..(filled in wrong place).

so YES first player still on

so I am now assuming that William is ..........oops...not allowed....but could be a link to Samuel O'Neill's Snr spouse....

can we play tennis now please. :-[

Steve

;D...wonderful stuff...good to nosey in on others' research for a change and see it can be just as confusing as one's own...especially love and can empathise with the moral... ;D
