F B Greeves was curate in the parish of Eston which is on Teesside, but in 1890, when he was listed in a local directory, this was still the North Riding of Yorkshire. Today it is in the much expanded Borough of Middlesbrough.
The parish of Cudworth was created by the division of the parish of Monk Bretton in 1894; both were previously a part of the ancient large rural parish of Royston.
