« on: Wednesday 03 October 07 12:16 BST (UK) »
Hi, Pleasecan someone help me find the death of my Aunt, her name was caroline jane mills ,born at diamond creek  in 1868, married David Peach in 1889.
Her parents were Emma and Henry mills.
she had 3 children the last one born in 1899.
I havent been able to find any record of her death, as I believe her husband remarried , a few years later after the the last baby was born.
Hope you may come up with some information
Jamie lee.

IN 1911, Victoria
Carol Jane MILLS (born Diamond Creek)  married William RICHARDSON (born Carlton)
reg number: 3699

I could not find a divorce in the index images for Victoria.
By the way, she could use her married name without having to go through any legal formalities.  She has been shown as Carol in all index entries, not Caroline.

forget it - wrong girl!
death 1969
Caroline Jane RICHARDSON, died aged 83, Donvale - reg: 21274
father: William MILLS
mother: Sabina KIDD

This one was born DIAM (Diamond Creek?) 1887 to the parents listed on death, registered as Caroline Jane.

Yours was born Greensborough 1868 to Henry Mills and Emma Jolley.

Are you following back the right girl?

Christine  :)

Hi Jen and Christine,
Thank you both for your replies' because you both came up with Caroline Mills is that Grandfather married twice and my Caroline is from his second marriage and the other is from his son marriage of the first
 marriage if that make,s sense.
I faintly remember my parents talking about one of my fatherssisters dying very early  and that she had a couple of girls, I have been looking for quite a
while to try and find a death.
Perhaps by getting the marriage certificate of David Peach marring again(which I feel it may be Caroline ,s husband) it should show if he is a widdower )but I s
t ill won,t know what happened to her.Many thanks     Jamie lee

Hi

I have checked the indexes - the marriage of David PEACH to Caroline MILLS in 1889 has him born in BIRMINGHAM [?UK] and the marriage of a David PEACH in 1906 has him born in VICTORIA

I have checked the births and the only  David PEACH was born at HILL [?Hillsborough] in 1870 -  Parents Ephraim and Edith HAILSTONE and died in 1945 in Beechworth aged 74 yrs.

The marriage certificate of Caroline MILLS to David PEACH would clarify if it was the same person.  I think there are two David PEACH's.

I think you need the marriage cert ;D

Cheers
cando

A marriage of a widow/ widower should give the date that they were widowed and also numbers of children from that marriage, living or dead.

Hi

Yes Christine you are correct  but  the 1889 marriage reg would detail  David's birth [Birmingham ?UK] and parents.  We have the place of birth -Hillsborough, Vic  - east of Beechworth - for David PEACH b. 1870. and his death in 1945 at Beechworth  His wife Alice JACKSON whom he married in 1906, was born at Stanley - near Hillsborough and Beechworth, died in Beechworth in 1960 also.

Purchasing the 1906 marriage will  give you details of a David PEACH born Victoria however quite a lot of information has already been gleaned from the indexes.  This won't give you details of the David PEACH from the 1889 marriage.

Cheers from

Hello  there Invisible Cando   and Christine and Jamie Lee
I would have  to  say  that  perhaps  they  only  solution  here  is  to  obtain  both  David Peach's  marriage certificates  that  should  prove  whether or not  he  is  the same  man.  The second certificate of marriage as Christine points  out  should state  if he is a widower or not!!  It is possible that  he (one of the David Peach's) was married  earlier in England

As  we  have all encountered  in  our quest for family  family  heresay  is  just that  and  only certificate more often  than  not  prove  the stories as truth or fiction!

This is the information  you should find on a Victoria Marriage Certificate
Marriages
Date and place of marriage;
name and surnames;
conjugal condition,
whether bachelor or spinster, widow or widower, stating date of decease of former wife or husband; children by each former marriage;
birthplace;
occupation;
age;
residence (present and usual);
parent's names of each party (including mother's maiden name) and occupation of father;
signatures of the parties and witnesses;
signature of Minister.
Prior to 1963 the date of termination of previous marriages of the parties is also shown.

you can pay for and download a Victoria Certificate for $17.50

Hi Jen,Cando,Christine,Thank you all very much for taking the time to check my elusive Aunt.
I will get the certificates and it may give me a bit more information.
But it appears to be that I may never find out about her.
Once again thank you and all the best to you all.
