Not connected to these families but IGI has 2 children of Nathaniel's born in Glasgow: Lydia Ann Walker 1867 & Nathaniel Osborne 1869.
Have you tried searching Scottish census records? Also death certificates might give more information and be easier found than what you might find in Ireland.

Thomas Carson's marriage certificate should give name and occupation of his father (but not mother's name). Note: civil registration of Protestant marriages began 1845 (Catholic marriages not until 1864).
You can search IGI yourself at www.familysearch.org - go to search page, put in name of groom & bride, select 'marriage' put in year & Ireland and click 'search'

Just noticed this:

CARSON, Robert Marriage
 Wife: Jane ANDERSON
Marriage Date: 24 May 1855 Recorded in: Errigle Keerouge,

 Collection: Civil Registration
 Husband's Father: Thomas CARSON
 Wife's Father: Samuel ANDERSON

and this:
Thomas Carson married Jane Anderson 24th may 1855 would iyt be possible to find the father of Thomas please? I just wondered if Thomas Carson was the brother to Nathaniel Carson if so parents John Carson aand Jane Osbourne..
Are these two marriages supposed to be for the same people?
