Sydney Albert TOOGOOD
« on: Tuesday 02 October 07 20:01 BST (UK) »
Hi - Not sure where to post this . . .

There are two Sydney Albert TOOGOOD's listed in the death records for October 1984 and both have the same birthdate 3 Nov 1910.

However, one is in Blackburn and one is in Canterbury. They have a different volume number but page and reg are the same. How do i determine which is correct?

I should write to the local register offices and explain the problem.  Say what details you know about him - wife, occupation etc and with luck one or both of them will respond to say this is right or wrong.  Have you checked to see if there are two born at that time?

You could email the findmypast website, explain the problem and ask if they could look at the actual images.  The fact that the volume and page number and birthdates are the same seems an odd coincidence and could be a transcription error. You can email them at info[at]findmypast.com (substituting @ for [at])

I could only see one birth in Dec Qu 1910 in St. Olave district for an Albert S. Toogood, but then again births on death certs are not too reliable.

Doesnt it say the Vols are different - as presumably evidenced by one being Blackburn and the other Canterbury ?

Paulvt - no clues as to origins ?
