Not that I'm an expert - but I gather they get some good things. Apparently they get much more information on their marriage certificates, I was told and can download them for £1 - anyway that's what they said on Sunday at the WDYTYA live show.

For anything 1855 onwards you get heaps of info onbirth, death and marriage certs. Parents names and maiden surnames etc all for just over £1. The OPRs are not as good - depends on how church kept the records tho on a baptism you'll get parents names. On marriage banns you don't normally get parents names. And of course no death certs pre 1855 alas!

But still good value. Would be lost without it

Never mind keep digging you never know what'll turn up! I thought had no Welsh and few Irish and turns out I got Welsh and loads of Irish.

Thank you!  I enjoyed reading all the posts here.  I gleaned lots of information here on where to search for my uncle's burial site.  I have very limited facts but will try anyway.

 I'm looking for Arthur John Robin who died at the Seaman's Hospital in Greenwich, Kent.  He was in the Merchant Navy.  He was born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1915 and died 1953 in Greenwich, Kent at the Seaman's Hospital.
