Hi Heywood,
Many thanks for your help but I don't think that this is the correct Hartland as he was married in 1905, which would only make him 17yrs. Feasable, but unlikely.
Thanks also to Jackie for the marriage details. I had found that info. also on WMBMD.
I find it unusual to have a son called both Henry & Harry as Harry is another term for Henry. On his daughter's birth certificate in 1920 he is named as Harry, driving for a meat factory and ex-army. It is the details of his parents that I need as I am tracing the family history of the Hartlands for his grand daughter. I suppose the next move is to obtain his marriage certificate where the details should be shown
Many thanks - I will let you know if I find the details.
Rob. of Portsmouth

Hi Sue,
Many thanks for your kind offer - this is what Rootschat is all about!
I am still looking for the parents of Henry Harry Hartland. I think maybe the other contributors may be right and Harry (Henry) could have been married at the age of 17yrs. After the birth of the 3rd child, apparently, he then went to live with someone else but, accoding the Dudley cemetery records, they were buried in the same grave! I bet the ground is moving a bit there! I am waiting for my wife's cousin (the grand-daughter) to come up with their marriage certificate to find out who his parents were. If you have any clues, I would be delighted with the info. Didn't realise there were so many Hartlands in the Midlands.
Regards,  Rob.

hi sad to say i can't help but if anyone should come across Mary HARTLAND born about 1791 in the Broadwas area please let me know I've searched everywhere I can think of including the bordering Hereford parishes Date and place are from the 1851 and 1861 census for Edward HODGES, whom she married in 1813 in Doddenham.
Good luck with your search who knows we may eventually link up
