« on: Sunday 30 September 07 19:37 BST (UK) »
Trying to find these two villas in Bangor.

They belong (1880's) to Stephen McDowell (m Maria Birkmire) A business man in Belfast (drysalter) who left them to his sons Kenneth and Harry.

do they still stand,

If you go to a site like www.propertynews.com and fill in the search details there are usually Princetown Rd., Bangor properties listed. Might be some new-built ones but should also be some older ones there. Street numbers will be listed to give you an idea of how close a property might be to the one you want.

Yes, the prices are a bit steep but North Down is expensive, Bangor is a coastal resort, close to Belfast, etc.
PRONI has Valuation books which follow Griffith's Valuation until c1920s. However, they would not photocopy as the system of changes is based on different (now very faded) colours of ink over the years.
Working back through directories might help a bit to narrow down the date but not easy unless you can get to the libraries here probably.

Hello Steve,

I am not sure if my previous message got through.

I live about 100 yards / metres from Glenoe Villas, Nos 85-87 Princetown Road, Bangor. Built about 1892.

Tomorrow I shall take a photo and I shall try and send it to you.
