Italian Gothic by William Leiper  ???

That's awesome...and just for a carpet factory...obviously someone wanted to make the common place something that it wasn't...hmmmm. Now you've got my interest. Do you know who owned this factory when it was built? Why build such a beautiful factory because that's what it was... ??? A place of work...

I have had my eyes opened about Glasgow. All these amazing pictures. I guess your parents do "colour" your views about things. I always thought that it was an ugly city but I can see that it is not and that it has an amazing amount of beautiful architecture. Thank you  :)

Hi All

A serious point:

When people request no pictures of them to appear, I think that they mean it and their wishes should be complied with. It is a matter of trust.

Two people, at different meets, have, to my knowledge, now been affected by other people's blatant disregard of such requests.

Because of this, I certainly will not take any part in the organisation of other meets and will not be attending any.

Regards

I have just re-visited this post since I posted the photographs.
I had not realised that there had been a serious request for particular photos not to be posted.

I SINCERELY apologise for any offence that has been caused to anyone by my actions.

Gadget I was at the meet and took pictures and was never asked by any chatters not to post which is a little surprising considering the mods seem to know that a chatter didnt want to be featured on the boards.

just when did the chatter ask for no posts because as I have said I didnt get told by anyone that they didnt want their photograph posted.

It looks like I havent posted that chatter but it would have been nice to be forewarned before I inadvertantly offended anyone.

I believe that Julian asked for anyone to inform him if they didn't want their photos taken or shown on the board.

Also, it is always best to check before posting anyone's photo and never assume that it's OK  - it's a question of what is called 'Informed Consent' and just basic good manners.

I didn't hear or see any indication of anyone asking not to be included in photos either  ???

Practically everybody had a camera and I would have thought there was plenty of time and opportunity for us all to be informed either as a group or individually.

I'm not trying to be cheeky, but if I didn't want to be in a photo - I think I'd try and avoid standing in front of a camera. I think it would be the last thing on anyone's agenda to upset anybody, especially a fellow Rootschatter.
