Forgot to say I also have census information for them (1841-1901) and in contact from yesterday with another descendant of Jane's.

The odd thing we have come across is that the youngest son we know of is called John Wilkinson Howbridge at birth but on his grave stone (we found it and took a pic) which he shares with an older brother he is John Thompson Howbridge.  We can't explain the discrepancy since the ages match.  Perhaps just a mistake.

I need to find a death record.  Can you help with that Jill?

I'll try!   :-\

Can you tell me when he died and where he's buried? If it was after 1837, have you not sent for a death certificate?

No he died too young for certificate.  According to his grave stone he died on April 16th 1835  aged 17 years.   It makes sense that he has his mother's maiden name as his middle name so not sure where the Thompson comes from unless he had two  middle names or it is a mistake.  I'm still researching on IGI and 1841 census for explanations and family connections.

I've made a note to look at the Hornsea burials next time I go to the RO - it may be a couple of weeks.

I take it, it is Hornsea where you saw the gravestone?
