I have got back to 1808 with Stephen and Mary. I have had a break over the Christmas and now you have put me back on track lol, thanx. As I am in Liverpool it makes my research a little harder and fully depend on the net. I am hoping in the summer to get up to Derbyshire and have a scout around. Lynn

there is a marriage on IGI of a Stephen Poulson to mary smith -but it is a member submitted record and about 10 years too early

You may find something at matlock - and mary was b Ilkeston so may be omething there.

Noticed the eldest child was b Duffield -wonder if the marriage took place there - there was time when the vicar of Duffield was very "generous" with who he married - out of the parish -and Duffield was a kind of "gretna Green" for people from the Ilkeston/Heanor area

I usually go to matlock every couple of weeks -but at the moment am retricted due to  family illness.

If you don't get into matlock, Jim, let me know -a friend of mine goes every few weeks.

Glad you have connected - and thanks for the generous thank you

Hi Lyn

Hi

I didn't manage to get into matlock today. However, I did find the following link/reference to Stephen Powlson chirstening, definately correct as we know he was born in All Saints, Derby around 1908:

http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Search/IGI/individual_record.asp?recid=500013698215&lds=1&region=2&regionfriendly=British+Isles&frompage=99

It appears that his mum and Dad were called Stephen Poulson and Mary too! but prob need to see actual record which is at Lichfield records office!
