in 1901 mathew age 29 along with wife mary a age 28 and evelyn dau 4 and mathew son 6 mnth  were living at 99 spencer st heaton northumberland
i am hoping to trace him back a while if possible !

Hi,not sure if this is your family but here are possibles.
freeBMD has a Matthew born mar qtr 1870 at Brampton.
and a marriage at Sheffield Dec qtr 1896 possibly to a Mary Ann Llife or Mary Agnes Moon.  The 1881 census has a Matthew 10 yrs born Cumberland then living with family at 176 Ormskirk,Pemberton, Lancashire.

i am almost 100% sure its the moon family as my gggrandad went to america to stay with mathew and he stated it was his cousin and ggg surname was moon

Hi hope these help I was unable to find Matthew on the 1841 census but found him on 1851.

                            1841 census Wetheral,Cumberland.
Ann 42 yrs,Mary 20 yrs,Jane 20 yrs,Richard 13 yrs,Matthew 5 yrs,Sarah 1 yr.
unable to search on 1841 any further as Library computers froze up.

                            1851 census,Warwick Bridge,Cumberland.
Matthew 63 yrs     a Dyer?                   b Carlisle.
Ann         52 yrs                                    b Carlisle.
