Marriage Look Up - BRIANT/BRYANT

Please could someone look up the marriage of Richard Briant/Bryant approx 1799 in Cuddington/Haddenham area? I have his wife as  Love Topham, but I'm not sure this is right. I would also love to find Richard's parents if possible. He was born about 1776.

Aha!......I've got that one as well.......so I'm not going mad then! I had scribbled that down on a piece of paper, but the Love Topham thing has been niggling at me. I was given that info years ago by someone, but could never find the Topham name anywhere and always wondered if it was correct. If you could just find Richard's parents for me now, I would be pathetically grateful!

there is a submitted entry on IGI for thsi marriage along with the extraced record but the submitted entry gives his birth circa 1773 at Wing. However as they do not know the year of birth then how can they tell he was born at Wing, my guess is they have just assumed that he was b. 25 years earlier than his marriage.


do you have any other details for him? such as when he died and how old he was then?

In the 1841 census, his age is 65, so obviously that would have been an approximation. I think he died in 1850 (unfortunately before the 1851 Census!), so really I need to get his death cert to get his age.

not necessary so, that will only tell you how old the informant believed the deceased to be

however in 1841 the ages were rounded down for adults (well anyone above the age of 14) but only by 5 years so you could assume then that he was born
1776-1771
there was an upper limit on the rounding also, i have a funny feeling that that was 65. and if that is the case he could have been born anythime prior to 1776! (so not much help then)

If only he'd hung on until after the 1851 Census!....so inconsiderate!
