Hi

Would love to help you find the family.

There does not seem to be a family that would match in the 1901 census, so need a bit more info if possible.

How sure are you that the name is spelt right ? You spell the husbands name as Sergison and the wifes name Segreson ?
Do you have any idea of Jane Ellens maiden name ?

It may be an idea if you had the birth certificate of Ellen born West Derby 1st qtr 1905 vol 8b page 469. the name in the index is spelt Sergesson. The certificate will give mothers maiden name and make finding a marriage a lot easier.

The OP has started another post for the family.

http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,256238.msg1428583.html#msg1428583

we don't appear to be able to corroborate anything (with any degree of certainty) with BMD. Liz has asked OP what is officially documented/registered  fact and what is 'family record' or 'family rumour'

 Hello PeterBennett and Pauline.
The infor mation came from a very elderly lady.
This is what she said.
As far as she can remember Jane Ellen Sergeson was born in Congleton.
[She think's]
But she lived in Liverpool. for the rest of her life.Liverpool I do know is true.
Jane Ellen Sergeson Born Approx 1868. Died age 79yrs in everton liverpool.
She was married to a John Sergeson. He died before her, she does not know when.
Jane and John had three children all born in Liverpool.
The eldest child was Mary Jane. she died on the 26th Sept: 1960 in Guildford
2nd Child Ellen Born 1904 4th Dec: died 1979. Everton.
3rd Child William cannot remember where in Liverpool he was born. thinks he died in the southend of Liverpool.
The surname Sergeson. Maybe could be spelt Sargeson.
 But she insisted Sergeson.
This I know is a long shot. and I am grateful to you both for doing your best to help.
                           Thankyou. Lep

Ok, lets' explore more.

can you find Mary Jane's death in the index. We can't because we don't know what name to look for.
from that you can get Mary Jane's birth and thence the birth certificate info on which to base a search.

You can look up Mary's death and birth at a later time, now that you are in a position to order Ellen's birth certificate.

when you have the certificate, you can tell us (amongst other things) her mother's maiden name.

Most likely marriage I can find at present is
Jul/Aug/Sep 1889, Liverpool reg district,
John Sergeson
Also on page is a Jane Thomas (no middle name)

(i did find this one whilst looking on your other thread, but discounted it, as you had her name there as Ellen!)

But at this stage it is ONLY A POSSIBILITY.

As Peterbennet and Pauline say, the next step is to get Ellen's birth cert to establish her mother's maiden name.

Possible birth for William:

Jul/Aug/Sep 1901
William Sergeson
West Derby 8b 397
(this would make him older than Ellen)

Possible birth for Mary Jane:

Jan Feb/Mar 1893
Mary Jane Sergenson
Toxteth PArk 8b 254
(slightly different spelling. This would make her 8 years older than William and 11 years older than Ellen)

MAybe someone can find  this Mary Jane in 1901, to either rule her out, or lead us to the family
