Nearly all the Sergesons on FreeBMD are from this sort of area, so I guess there was more than one family around producing children at the turn of the century.

For example there are:

Eliza Jane bn Jan/Feb/Mar 1891 Toxteth Park
Elizabeth bn Oc/No/Dec 1898 West Derby, died 1901
john bn O/N/D 1896 Liverpool
MArgaret Doyle bn J/F/M 1894 Toxteth Park died 1895
Emma Selina bn J/F/M 1880 Liverpool
MAry Ann (cant find birth on Free) but died 1891, says bn 1889

So it is POSSIBLE that some of these were also children of your couple in the gap between Mary JAne and William

but ... lots of Sergesons (of various spellings) in that area!
Edmonds/Edmunds - mainly Sussex
DeBoo - London
Green - Suffolk
Parker - Sussex
Kemp - Essex
Farrington - Essex
Boniface - West Sussex

Interestingly the IGI has only a few Sergeson's and variants in Liverpool area, but vast quanitities from villages around Cambridge and the Fens, Lincoln, and Cumberland, and some from other places too, but those were the ones with quantity.
Couldnt find anything to fit in with what we've got
