Hi

Are you sure he was baptised or are you assuming he was?

What actual date was he born in 1901 - his birth was only registered in the December quarter so he was born between October - December.  If he was baptised - it could have been 1902?

Which church was he baptised in?

Several churches in Chelmsford and baptisms could take place weeks, months or even years after a birth so without more precise info it would involve a  lengthy and possibly fruitless search through parish records

As you know his parents names - what information are you looking for from a possible baptismal record that isn't available on his birth certificate?

Births Dec 1901
FULLER  Edwin William     Chelmsford  4a 669

Copy certificates can be ordered online at www.gro.gov.uk

Marriages Sep 1900

The 1901 census has this entry

Charles Fuller 25 b Herne Kent - grocers manager
Mabel wife 23 b Kent Northfleet

No children so where did you get the info from that Charles & Mabel had children before they married?

Hi

I suspect you are confusing 2 separate families.

Marriages Sep 1900

Fuller  Charles     Chelmsford  4a 867
Godden  Mabel     Chelmsford  4a 867

The 1901 entry I found without children would be consistent with a marriage only 6 months before.  It is highly likely that the 2 children b 1901 and 1909 were from the marriage above.

The 1901 has Mabel Fuller b Rottingdean 1869.  I have checked the 1881 & there is a Mabel Godden b Rottingdean 1869 but I can't find her under Godden or Fuller in 1891

All b Rottingdean

William Godden 47  ag labourer
Ann Godden 50
Mabel Godden 12
William Godden 14
Richard Belton 66  boarder

I think it was a second marriage for Charles as there is a Rose Fuller b Lewes aged 7 months on the 1891 census - parents Charles and Sarah A

Marriage
Charles Fuller / Sarah Ann Saunders  June qtr 1889   Lewes
Volume: 2b  Page: 344

Deaths
Sarah Ann Fuller aged 28 Sept qtr 1898  Lewes  Volume: 2b Page: 105

You need a copy of the Fuller/Godden marriage cert to establish Charles status at the time of marriage

Hello, I am a descendant of Mabel Godden's brother Richard James Godden.  I can tell you quite a bit about your Godden forbears going back to mid 1700s if you are interested.
