Hello Aulus,

Thanks for this reply.  The layout is more or less the same now - I found a modern map on google, and a map from 1887 on old-maps.co.uk, and to me the layout of the roads is practically identical.

My Dudley ancestors originated in Oxfordshire and Worcestershire on one side, and the others were Tibbetts, who seem to go back many generations in the Black Country.  Many of my ancestors were nailers.  It certainly was no easy life in Dudley in those days.

my mom was born in Oak Street, Darby End, & my uncle Ron still lives in the same house, the street has not changed for years.
