               monkeys tump......heard this name many times  8 gelli terrace is where my great grand parents lived visited it many times, but above the terrace was  gelli cottages and in the three cottages lived two families called "reed" and the colliery manager. i think that these cottages were the monkeys tump.....go to rhondda collieries web site and you will see a coloured photo graph of gelli colliery and in the back ground on the mounting side you will see monkeys tump and the terrace and cottages.

Hi there's a monkeys tump in Gelli rhondda the proper name of street is Gelli terrace my mother in law and all her family parents grandparents etc have lived there
