I have found the registration details of my Great Uncle Robert, his wife(Jeanette Hagland-Known as Janet ) and his children, and after that nothing.

Directory 1938-39/ Robert Young as Beef and Pork Butcher of 230 Chingford Road and 256 Forest Road E17(home).Phone Walthamstow 3159(Still trading in 1965 Chingford possibly son Sidney)

He had four children

Sidney b.4/2/1916
Marjorie J. b.1917
Kenneth G. b.1925
Thomas G. b 1926

I have also found a directory for Kenneth?
Tele. Directory 1965  K.G.Btcher 100 Raglan Rd. SE18 WOOlwich 6451

I can find no marriages, deaths or further references.

Anyone who could possibly help, I would be most grateful.

Spring
Hello Spring, my name is Roger Young, I am so pleased that Richard found you.

I will try to fill in some of the missing peices of information re: the Young family.

Robert was my Grandfather he died around 1965 and Janet died a year later, thier children you listed are correct exept for Tom who was married to my aunt Marjorie (known as Madge) thier surname was Edwards, Ken was my father and he actually died in 2006 in a village named Quainton in Buckinghamshire, the name missing from your list is Robert's daughter Joice and she is now 90 years old and living in Halstead Essex.

The picture that you sent to Richard I am sure I have seen before many years ago,as Richard said I worked in the Forest road shop on Saturdays from age of nine years.

Robert and Janet lived in a house opposite Walthamstow town hall no 668 Forest road.

I hope this information is of some use to you, if I can help with anything please ask, I am not too sure of some aspects of the family but please ask.

Kind regards. Roger Young.

Roger, how wonderful,

I am in the process of of gatherring census returns, parish baptisms etc.fOr Richard

I am very interested in finding which two female relations visited Roberts sister May (unmarried) when she was in a nursing home in Kent or more likely Sussex as she worked and lived in brighton died in 1962 ( I was living in S. America and we returned early1964 so don't really take in what Mum told me!)

My Ma went a few day,s later and was told tha two ladies had visited and been given May's albums .Ma was hoping for some photos of her mother Lily who died in 1907.

Bob was only a few years older than Ma and her older sister and visited us often
Now I do understand why the day we visited Forest Row I have never been able to remember Tom but had a feeling that there was another girl! Are there any photos around do hope so

One other little mystery.
I have the birth certificate of Sidney (1916) and a death cert for a Sidney  in Hull all birth details identical
Thankyou so much for getting in Touch
