Birth look up Nova Scotia

Would anyone be able to look up a birth of Catherine Pollard born about 1880 +/- 5 years in Halifax Nova Scotia.  Her father was William Charles Pollard.   Or point me in the right direction.  Thanks.  Kim

www.automatedgenealogy.com has 1901 & 1911 census.
if you don't have any luck let us know as there are other sources that might help.

P.S. if she died in N.S. between above dates and was married check under married surname as certificate should give birthdate, parents, etc.

Thank you for your reply but I still can't find her.  Her father was british and they lin 1901 she is back living in uk but census shows she was born in Halifax Nova Scotia.  Is there a census I can access?

Don't see her in births (1864-77) either. 'Halifax' can refer to the city, the county or even the area.
1881 Canadian census at www.familysearch.org (but I couldn't see a William Pollard there)

Thank you for your time and trouble.  Catherine Pollard is on the uk 1901 census but by this time she is married Catherine Blissett but her place of birth says Nova Scotia.  She seems a bit of a mystery but thank you all for your help.  Her father was Captain William Charles Pollard (Merchant Service) - we can't find him either.

As her father was in the Merchant Service, you should check in England for her birth, even though she was born in Canada.

Hi This is really for Janice ref post of 2005,

I know that a few years have passed since your posts on the POLLARDS of Nova Scotia. I've hit a real wall...Looking for William Pollard born Nova Scotia 1819/20 perhaps in Halifax. His mother Mary, (nee Strathern or Strathearn) father also William Pollard both Scottish (I think).

Young William, my GGGF 'returned' to Scotland as a young man, married Elizabeth Mcpherson and settled in the Torphicen/Armadale area near to Edinburgh. He in turn had a son William.

Nova Scotia William died at the age of 79/80 years of age and is buried in a 'lair' in Schotts churchyard near to Armadale.

My mother's really getting on now and due to a family glitch knows nothing of her past...can you help?

Hi Sheila

There isn't alot of hope in finding a birth record form 1819/1820. You might want to check some of the census transcriptions that are available.
