Bracebridge burials
« on: Saturday 08 September 07 17:44 BST (UK) »
Hi everyone, I have just said I would go and try and find a head stone for another rootschat member, the deceased was a worker at st John's hospital, Bracebridge heath,  because only Bracebridge was mentioned , I thought of my local church yard, all Saints , Bracebridge, but now I am wondering if because he worked at the hospital , he maybe buried up there, my question is ,  are there burial ground's up there  ??? I don't know about a burial ground but, as you probably know, the asylum was renamed St John's Hospital - there was a reason for this

http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/LIN/Bracebridge/bracebridge_asylum.html

Apparently, Lincs Archives has no registers from there http://www.lincolnshire.gov.uk/section.asp?docId=28369
Don't cry because its over. Smile because it happened.

Thanks GeoffE  it looks as though he would have been buried on the premises or rather in the ground's.

Hello Eilleen.

I am a new comer to this site and wondered if anyone could help.
I have found out that my grandad went into Bracebridge Heath hospital and most likley died there.

His name is George Sleight Born around 1877, he would not have gone into the hospital to at least 1934.
Can anyone help.

Stringbean.
Names I am researching
Sleight, Hollingsworth, Smith, Marshall, Lowery, Hudston, Smedley, Keal, Avery, Glenn,
Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire.
