John W Taunton

Hi
I am trying to locate the grave and death information of John W Taunton
He would have died in Queensland some time between 1965-1975.
Not sure where abouts in QLd he lived information from other NSW Family is that it was possibly in the brisbane area or on the coast some where.

Any help would be appreciated thanks

Hi Christine,
I contacted the Brisbane City Council yesterday about their Cem. Search problem.
If a couple of others emailed them too, they might fix it.

I used the 'Contact us' link and made the best I could of the inappropriate pro-forma complaints form that this link produced. Basicaly said 'Please fix'

Yes I have searched the site you mentioned before.
My John Taunton is not listed.
So that may mean he was not buried or cemated in the Brisbane area.

John William Taunton
Born 8th April 1907 Wanganui New Zealand.
Parents: Joseph Henry Taunton and Ruth Louisa Bugg

This would make him 58yrs if he died in 1965

My Mother thinks he may have passed away either in 1967 or 68
Sorry I can't give anymore details
Siblings of John Taunton have passed away and I don't think he had any children.

Well he was living in Redfern NSW when he enlisted in 1940.
Joseph was his Next of Kin.

What makes you think he went to Brisbane?

Yes I have all of those details
He Married Mary H Richards in 1927 at Rockdale.
He Joined the Militia forces in Sept 1937. Lists his wife Mary as next of Kin.

My Grand father told me some time ago and this is back up by my mother that Jack moved to QLD some time after the war. He also separated from his wife Mary. My Grand father was never sure if he was actually divorced.  John did have another partner/ wife not sure if they married. May that is why he moved to QLD no one would know him up there.

So this is why I am trying to find out his death info so that possibly get the name of his second wife etc.

Mary Hannah Taunton married Ross Arthur Hutton in 1956.

So it looks as if they did divorce.
Do you think you have told us everything now in the way of information.
It really is best to state as much as possible at the outset if people are to help
