Looking back at my paternal Grandparents if you take a generation at 30 years I should have been dead years ago! 
But I'm not and I'm still searching,

Grandpa born Kent 1891 of London and Lincolnshire stock

Maternal Grandmother County Limerick Southern Ireland no date as yet.

Paternal  ;    1864 ( on the boat from Ireland to N.Z.) &
                    1882  both died 1910 - 46yrs before I was born
