do you know where your gran gladys was born?
there is a gladys.m barnes birth registered dec 1921 with mothers maiden name barnes but that is in barnet district
regards
alli

Gladys Poppy Philis Barnes was born in Wareham in 1922.her mum and dad was Frederick William Barnes and  Lilly Rose Ivy Barnes  b1898,they was both named Barnes before marriage, not sure if they are related from the same family and not sure if they did get married.there was a big secret in the family and nobody wants to talk about it.I am trying to find Frederick William Barnes parents, who are Frederick Charles Barnes and  Lilly Rose Barnes,i been told they might have been travelers and might not be from the Dorset area.so have hit a brick wall on that side of the Barnes family.

Cheers Pete

Have you checked all the lists with the name spelled BARNS (no E) ?

Had a quick check,i have been told Frederick William Barnes and  Lilly Rose Ivy Barnes have the E missing on there graves in ST Mary church,so they have got Barns on there graves

Hello Pete,
I've only just read your entries about the Barnes family., and by now you may have all the answers to your questions..  But I thought I'd let you know that someone on the Ancestry.co. site is researching the same family as you. Apparently the Barnes family is connected with the Ford family but I couldn't get any more details without actually writing a message to the researcher, who has data on Lilian Rose Barnes, Gladys Poppy Philis Barnes, etc.  I subscribe to this site and could contact them  on your behalf if you are unable to.

I dont think i have him in my tree,i have a Arthur John Barnes, his parents was Alfred and Lucy.i have a big gap in my Barnes family,so there still might be a connection.
