Durham record office/marriage search
« on: Thursday 06 September 07 10:00 BST (UK) »
Would someone who is going to Durham record office be able to look up a register of marriages for the Brancepeth parish, 1813 to 1837, ref.EP/Br 13.
The marriage is between a Joseph Hogg & Elizabeth Craggs in 1833. I would love to have any other details from the record eg ages, parents' names etc

Hi Alawton,

In my W E Rounce transcriptions the marriage is recoded as:
Hogg Joseph {Kelloe} married Elizabeth Craggs 22nd June 1833.

There are two other HOGG entries
Hogg David married Ann Gelder 1st May 1724
Hog Alexander married Grace Morrison 14th May 1733.

Hope some of this is helpful to you.
Cheers
Geoff

bones, You people are amazing, looking up data for people in the far flung regions of the world! Did the baptism of Joseph Hogg 4 May 1800 by any chance have the maiden name of the mother?
Many thanks,
alawton :D

I have a transcript of Kelloe baptisms--except I seem to be missing 1800.  Kelloe did not seem to put the mother's maiden hname in until about mid 1801.  However there was a sister Isabella born in 1802--born 24 Sept bapt 7 Nov 1802 daughter of Joseph Hogg, labourer native of ____by his wife Elizabeth Cook native of Byers Green Auckland St. Andrew

Stephen Hogg born 12 Jan 1808 baptised  21 Feb 1808 10th child of Joseph Hogg of Old Engine, Husbandman, native of Gainforth by his wife Elizabeth late Cook native of Haytors Yorkshire

Then there is a later one:  Dorothy Hogg born 24 May 1811 baptised 4 Aug 1811 7th daughter of Joseph Hogg, husbandman native of Gainforth and Elizabeth his wife late Cooke native of Ayton Yorkshire
