There is little information on my line (Sweeney) that I am able to trace without subscription to websites. I have information on only 2 generations, that being Edward Sweeney born 3/11 or 3/16/1849, and his parents Peter (possibly Hugh?) born 1832 and Theresa Anne (Casserly) Sweeney born 1836. I've verified the dates as best I can. This family of 3 came to US in 8/23/1851, leaving from Limerick and arriving in NY on ship Victoria.
Peter's parents were Hannah (maiden name unknown) 1800-1896 and Peter (possibly Hugh) born 1799. Peter and Hannah had 3 children (Peter 1832, John 1835, and Anna 1836).
Ann (Sweeney) Clinton born 1836 married James Clinton. Both buried in US. All of these individuals were born in Ireland to the best of my knowledge.
I have an obituary of an Ann (Sweeney) McGee who was born in Ireland 1/31/1780 in the parish of Rosscommon, County Leitrim (obituary identified county of Natrim which must be an error), married Patrick McGee, had a daughter Hannah. They came to US from the parish of Rossinver. Came to US in 1847 to NY.
That is really all I have. Would love to know any information, particularly with Edwards's parents, such as if they were also from Rossinver and their Catholic parish. Any specifics would be welcomed. My sister and I are planning a trip to Ireland next summer to conduct genealogy search but we don't know where to begin once we arrive in Letirim. Thank you for your generous offer to help.
