Cause of Death Help - Tuberculosis
« on: Wednesday 05 September 07 18:47 BST (UK) »
Hi RCers

I've just recieved a couple of death certs and the cause of death is given as

Phithesis 2 years certified on one and Phithesis 9 months certified

Now I know that phithesis  is the term for TB, however i'm confused by the "2 years certified" and "9 months certified" parts.

Is this how long they were ill for????

Thanks and sorry if its a dumb question.

Carole

Yes, that's how long they had been diagnosed with the illness.
"certified" means certified by a doctor

No doubt it was present for much longer than that in both cases but not causing serious problems.
