Quaxer, thank you very much for your interest.
I'm afraid that Mary Boshell is not my relative.

On the Hertiage Dublin Website,

There is two marraiges for Bolshell

Boshell Jacobus -Fagan Anna 23-06-1784 St Andrews
Boshell John-Bryan Dorothy 28-10-1781 Ss Michael And John

Would these be John's grandparents. Bolshell is not a popular name in Ireland so there is a high possibly that these would be related.

There was a burial of an Edward
Boshell Edward 08-10-1879 08-10-1879 St James

And a few births
Date Of Birth Date of Baptism Surname Firstname Parish
  30-03-1821 Boshell Bridget Lucan R.c.
29-01-1816 29-01-1816 Boshell Eliz Rathfarnham R.c
  23-12-1849 Boshell Joannes Sandyford R.c.
23-12-1849 23-12-1849 Boshell John Christopherus Sandyford R.c.
16-02-1783 Boshell Patt Ss Michael And John
  10-12-1770 Boshell Thoms St Andrews

Thank you for your interest!
Firstly, as far as I know the Boshells were not Roman Catholic.
I am waiting for Glasnevin to put on line deaths before 1898.
Where was /is St. James?

Kooky,

If the Boshells were Protestant then it is possible but unlikely that any were buried in Glasnevin , Mount Jerome being more likely. Most city graveyards were in very poor sanitary state by mid 19th Century so new larger grave yards had to be created in the then suburbs.

The only St James' Graveyard I can find is behind No.121 James' Street with records in the RCBL. If this is not correct will a reader wiyh superior knolwledge interject.

Quaxer,
I have a large bible which was given to Susan Dowzard[Boshell] by the Rev. R Hemphill on the occasion of her marriage in July 1874. Unfortunately she died in 1882. There are 6 death entries.
The first is Susan's. It states -'Funeral will leave 6, Charlemount parade for Finglas Graveyard  etc'
I assumed wrongly that it meant Finglas, but apparently it is now Glasnevin. There is another post about this somewhere. I will try to find it tomorrow.
Capt. John Edward Boshell died in 1888 in Whitworth Hospital. The graveyard is not mentioned.
The other deaths are Dowzards, and they are in Mount Jerome.
