Hi Sandie,

Frances Florence Clare Blencowe was my first cousin, which thus means your husband & I are cousins too.  ;D I don't have much info on hubby Cyril but do have much on the Blencowe line including our connection right back to 1308. Am happy to share if you want to PM or e-mail me.  ;)

Regards,
Mark

Hi

Just browsing Scrase as my Gt Grandfather was reputed to have changed his name from Scrase, although I have yet to find evidence of this!

Anyway saw your message but see others have found what I have, although I found it on the FindmyPast site. (Tip: Since 1911 the birth records recorded the maiden name of mother)

I have found Cyril on the CWGC site. He was a Lieutenant in the Royal Sussex Regiment, service no. 199550. Buried at Patcham (All Saints) Churchyard extension.

Hello anyone who may be researching the Scrase families in Sussex, I am at the moment transcoding the FreeBMD scans covering 1924 4th.Quarter, and came across  babies born Palmer,Philip L.C.,Mothers name Scrase, Lewes,2b,Page 221
& Parkes,Leslie,G.,Mothers Name Scrase, Brighton,2b,277

hopefully this might help any of you who are working with this family name.   My reason for noticing this thread was that I hadn't seen the name Scrase before and wasn't sure if I had read the scans correctly.

Kindest regards

Alan Duckett

I've recently found a Thomas Scrase, B 1812, married Phoebe Advad, B 1811, September 1839 in Keymer. As they're not on the direct line, I'm not spending any time on them at present.

Hi Mark
I was looking for Pipers and Dales on the net and found what you had put on in 06.  I tried to contact you, but had to register, and, when I had done that, I kept getting shifted to Ancestry.  So I got started the only way I could think of.
My husband is the great grandson of Emma Piper.  Emma married George Albert Stone of West Grinstead.  Emma and George moved to Ontario.  My husband was born in Toronto.  I expect you have learned a lot more about the Dale's and Piper's since 06.  We are interested in any information about the families.
Hoping to hear from you.
