Hi, In 1956 my late father and grandfather made an incredible chance discovery at Rushton Spencer church of St Lawrence, near Leek in The Staffordshire moorlands. The discovery was the burial vault of the De trafford family. The vault had been plundered centuries earlier. Apparently, the De Traffords owned nearby Swythamley Hall, I imagine in the 16th/17th century, My late father, Gary Bailey was first to enter the vault, and it featured in local newspapers.
