Boococks of Otley/Bingley

I am trying to establish the ancestors of Ann Boocock, (Bocock, Bowcock??)born about 1813, probably in Hawksworth, between Otley and Bingley. She married Jacob Denby on 8/9/1833 in Otley. The closest I have found so far is a Nancy Boocock, daughter of John Boocock and Grace Spencer, whose other children (I think) included Grace (1795) John (1803) Mary (1806) and Christopher (1817). Grace Snr was still alive in 1851 aged 81. Does anyone have any more information or access to parish records that might show who Ann's father was at her marriage?

I think I might have some information on this family and a contact for you.
 My files are a mess at the moment, but I will go through and see what I can find for you.
They are linked to the name Brear.

Dave, I noted you also have the name Brear on your list.  These Brears are from Bradford, my line of Brears.

I haven't got a huge amount, only a  Jonas Denby married a Mary Brear on the 9th December 1838, his father was Jonas Denby. Jonas jnr was age 20 on certificate.
My contact has him baptised in 1819, Haworth.

After this Mary Brear died (in January 1862) he married her first cousin, namely, Mary Brear ... just to confuse the issue.  Especially when they were of similar age and both born Bradford.   Looks like the same person on the census.

The second marriage was in December 1862, father Jonas Denby - deceased.

I shall email my contact and get his permission to pass on his email address (via personal message of course)

I know that he also mentioned the Bocock/boocock name in one of his emails.
so I am sure there is a link somewhere.

I have indeed got a Mary Alice Brear 1875 - 1947 in my tree. She married Mark Greenwood Bland 1922 Q4 in North Bierley, died and was buried in Wibsey, Bradford.
Other than that I know very little about her.

Also thanks Margaret - I'll look forward to hearing anything you come up with - I still haven't managed to confirm who Anne Boocock's parents were - only best guess so far!
