Thanks Sylviann, yes this is his family.  I do have the info, (1851, 1861,1871 Census)

I was just looking for someone else to compare notes with, or rather commiserate with as it has been a rather lonely search!  Especially after 1900 as I cannot find relatives...I'm here in canada and they have to be there in England somewhere!

Thanx....

Do you have an Emily?  I seem to have lost a family of Woodgates, from Bethnal Green and was wondering if the name may have changed or been mis-transcribed?  Jan

Hi cat woman I have Woodages in my tree and they originate from berks but were listed as Woodgates in 1901 so maybe yours were transcribed the other way.

Hi Catwoman

Sent you a PM.  There were Woodages in Bethnal Green and there was an Emily Mary Ann Woodage born 1880 in Bethnal Green but their last name was always Woodage never Woodgate - her parents were Frederick and Susan Woodage.  Frederick was son the son of John and Elizabeth Woodage.

Further Hi PIP...it is me...still digging on those Woodages.  Check your PM
