Would you say she was pregnant?
« on: Sunday 19 August 07 13:03 BST (UK) »

I've got quite a few photos like this, all handed down from a gt grandfather, probably family members too but not a single one has anything written on to say who they are!! I stare at them for hours and i get nowhere! Very frustrating.

I'd say it's a possibility!  The book is hiding any evidence but the buttons on the bodice are a clue.

Yes i've noticed the buttons too. I thought it might have been immodest to have your picture taken when pregnant, maybe not.

I have a similar photo; although of a young couple, and family legend is that the wife, in a dress very much like your lady, was about 6 months pregnant.

Either way, I'd say it was likely to be d****d uncomfortable to be buttoned up like that at 6 months plus!  :-\

Judging by the amount of children those poor women had to produce, I would have thought it nigh on impossible to have a photograph taken without being in some stage of pregnancy!  :-\
