Hi Val and liz

Believe it or not, I think of Mary quite often ....  ;D ....

I think it would be great to follow her line back some more ... especially on the maternal side... (maybe there would be more marriages LOL) ... her dad was Blackler and mum was a Cowley, if I remember correctly ....

how about it , while we wait for the certs ::)

Hi Val

Just to recap...

1851
Village of Broad Hempston
George Blackler head mar 35 ag lab b Lytton, cornwall
Sarah wife mar 31 b Broad Hempston
George son 8 b BH
Mary dau 4 b BH
Susanna dau 8 months b BH
lodging with them are the Cowley family

George and Sarah (parents) seem to be messing around with their ages ! :-\ also george is now born in Cornwall and not Devon ummmm

I think this may be their marriage:
George BLACKLER to Sarah COWLEY
Dec 1843 Newton Abbot, Devon
vol 10 pg 275

There are a few BLACKLER Families in this village .... Some of them are farmers with lots of acreage , one is even a landed proprietor/surveyor & engineer.

deb

I will recheck 1851 and see who the Cowley family are who are living with them.

Hi again

!841:
Village of Broad Hempston

William COWLEY 71 ag lab
Sarah COWLEY  65
Sarah COWLEY 19
all born in county

This seems like their marriage:
William COWLEY to Sarah BURNER
30 Dec 1800
Staverton , Devon

so they would be Mary Blackler's Grandparents

Hi Val

In 1871

Plymstock
George ( 53) and Sarah( 48) are living with their children...
Susan (20 unm), James (16, unm , scholar b Jersey), sarah J (10, b Plymouth) and John S (4, b Plymstock).

Do you think she may have registered James in Plymouth maybe?
