Thanks for the confirmation that No. 59 was the "White Horse". Laurence Flood wasn't the name of my ancestor, though. He was Matthew Graty. Obviously he hadn't been there long when the 1861 Census was taken. He didn't stay long, either. When his wife died in 1863 he went back to his former occupation of Plumber. She was the daughter of a Brewer, which may have had something to do with him taking on a Pub in the first place.

I had a look at the Toxteth website and in particular at the "Pubs" section of it. No mention of a "White Horse" on it, though, or indeed any Pub in Parliament Street. Obviously it no longer exists under any name.
