There is a John Alexander FINLAYSON b. 1862 Creswick brother to Margaret mentioned in the last reply.  I will type up the 9 siblings if you think this is your family.

If it is your family Arthur Wilfred FINLAYSON  b. 1895 would be Margaret's nephew.

Looked up FINLAYSON/REED marriage in 1885/2024 and John is born Geelong.   Checked births for John Alexander FINLAYSON B. Geelong - he was born in 1861/8234  with parents William FINLAYSON and Mary HOLDEN.  John Alexander has 5 siblings - none named Margaret.  So there does no appear to be a connection with your Margaret Mackay FINLAYSON.

Well it's a real mystery now !

I take it that Margaret Mackay FINLAYSON was not born 23 February 1879,Melbourne,Victoria.
I know she married Henley Charles DARNELL circa 1907/08 (maybe Western Australia)

The Arthur Wilfred FINLAYSON connection maybe a Red Herring !

Do you think the Margaret FINLAYSON b. 1876 with father Alexander and mother Isabella McKAY is a possibility?   There were no Margaret Finlayson births on the Pioneer Index between 1876 and 1888.

It's a possibility ! Margaret Mackay Darnell (nee Finlayson) died 1921 Perth and I have her birth as 23/02/1879 which may be incorrect.

I guess the easiest thing would be to get her m/c.
