Broadbottom steam trains
« on: Monday 13 August 07 04:04 BST (UK) »
HI anyone,

Does anyone have any old photos of the steam trains that would have travelled to, or from Broadbottom in about 1956.

Appreciate any help if possible thanks.

Regards
Barbara Mcvey(Leah).

Hi,
I suggest you try Tameside Local Studies Web-site, sorry I don't remember the web address I have usually found it via Google.
I do have one drawing from 1855 of a steam train arriving at the station and the caption on makes reference to it appearing in the Illustrated London News so the Newspaper Archives may have a copy. Mine is very dark and I don't think it will reproduce satisfactorily for transfer via electonic mail. I think we've corresponded before and I think you are Down Under.  If you don't have any success via Tameside send me a pm and I'll give transferring it a try - you can always upload it to the wizzes on the Photo Restoration site.

Hi Mumsie 213,

Thanks for your email response regarding trying to find any photos of steam Trains , I emailed Tameside but they had no photos,  If you could try and email the photo of steam Train , you said you had to me,
I would appreciate that very  much,

Yes your name sounds familiar, I think I could have emailed you  sometime ago.

Regards
